Grain Handling Facility at Freeman Interim Action Cleanup Plan: Public comment period, 2/12 - 3/13/20
You are invited to review and comment on the draft interim action work plan and State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) documents for the Grain Handling Facility at Freeman site. The proposed interim cleanup actions are to drill a new well to pump out contaminated groundwater downgradient from the plume. The contaminated water would be treated on the grain handling facility property using granular activated carbon or an air stripper. Finally, the clean, treated water would return underground using four new wells upgradient of the contaminated groundwater. We have reviewed the interim actions using the SEPA checklist, and decided they won’t adversely affect people or the environment.
