Performance-based approach methods document for site-specific natural conditions criteria
The Department of Ecology is accepting comments on the revised draft of a methods document that provides the information and process we must follow to calculate water quality criteria based on a waterbody's natural conditions. This document is called A Performance-Based Approach for Developing Site-Specific Natural Conditions Criteria for Aquatic Life in Washington.
This document details the process Ecology will use to develop natural conditions site specific criteria. It is not rule language – it supports the natural conditions provisions in the surface water quality standards in Chapter 173-201A Washington Administrative Code (WAC).
