Early feedback for the current Fresh Fruit Packing General Permit

Ecology invites your feedback on the current Fresh Fruit Packing General Permit. This is the first step in the permit reissuance process. We are seeking input on what you would like to see in the next version of the permit.


Facilities in Washington that wash and pack fresh fruit for people to eat must obtain a permit to ensure that wastewater does not carry pollutants into waterbodies. The Fresh Fruit Packing General Permit outlines the conditions, treatment, and disposal methods for a facility’s wastewater prior to direct or indirect discharge to lakes, rivers, and groundwater.


Please note that this form is for the purpose of submitting informal feedback to the Washington State Department of Ecology. Commenter contact information is optional. However, contact information is necessary if you want to receive future notices related to this topic.
